What exactly are the Flourish Live Workshops?

The Flourish Live Workshops are a carefully curated series designed for migrant women and those starting anew in a different environment or navigating different life stage. These workshops offer guidance on how to settle in confidently, establish a solid financial foundation, start saving and investing, and build long-term financial security and wealth.

The primary distinction between our online and live Flourish workshops lies in their format and level of interaction.

  • Live Workshops: These sessions are dynamic and engaging, allowing for spontaneous discussions that can veer off the planned topics to explore unexpected themes. Participants can interact in real-time, fostering connections and building lasting friendships within a supportive community. Additionally, all live workshops are recorded and available on demand, so you can revisit the content whenever you need.
  • Online Workshops: These are designed for flexibility and convenience, providing recorded sessions that you can access at your own pace. While they offer valuable content, they lack the immediate interaction and spontaneous engagement found in our live workshops.

Live FLOURISH workshops were created to complement the online course by providing interactive, real-time engagement and personalized support for women.

The workshops were designed by migrant women teachers and experts who have experienced the challenges of settling in a new place. They understand the unique needs and layered challenges of migrant women and have tailored the content to provide practical advice.

The program covers a comprehensive range of topics essential for achieving financial success in a new environment. It includes strategies for increasing your income, setting clear financial goals, assessing your current financial situation, opening a bank account, and managing remittances effectively. You’ll also learn how to grow your finances through budgeting, saving, and investing, as well as navigate real-life financial scenarios and case studies specific to migration. Plus, with interactive sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to engage directly with experts and peers, making the learning experience even more impactful.

Participants will have access to worksheets, digital platforms, tech tools, cybersecurity tips, and smart financial tips (behavioral hacks). The sessions will also provide opportunities to practice new skills and get answers to specific questions.

These workshops are perfect for migrant women who are new to a city or country and need help with managing their finances. If your top priority is to transform your financial future and build wealth, and you prefer practical, migrant-specific financial advice, these workshops are for you. They are designed to help you understand and improve your financial situation effectively.

WEMatter is not a certified financial advisor, investment broker, or financial planning service. It is not a get-rich-quick scheme, nor is it a substitute for professional financial advice. Our live sessions are not conferences, seminars, or traditional online courses. Instead, they provide a space for women to learn, connect, and support one another in their financial journeys.

We understand that relocating can be financially challenging. We offer a range of resources and support options to assist you. Please contact us directly to discuss any potential discounts, scholarships, or flexible payment plans that may be available. We’re committed to helping you access the resources you need.

Each live session is 90 minutes long, and you should also allocate time for reviewing materials, completing exercises, and interacting with the content outside of the sessions. We suggest setting aside 2 hours each week to make the most of the program.

Maria Carmela V. Zabala, the founder and course developer of Flourish, is leading the program. Together with her team of experts with extensive experience in economics and finance including a deep understanding of navigating diverse financial landscapes as a woman on the move, ensures that the content is both relevant and empowering.
